We Light Up

Nixi had already been on a long odyssey to get her website out into the world. Discouraged, she wanted to give herself another chance. When we discussed together what she wanted for her website, it was one thing above all: sparkle, lightness and spaciousness. And yet balance playfulness with professionalism.

To rekindle her inspiration, I first showed her what was possible with Framer. We played around, animated, rotated, arranged and created moving images. From popping elves to cursors in the shape of shooting stars, spinning flowers to dancing portrait GIFs.

But nothing happens separately: During this process, Nixi went through multiple personal shifts, catalysing a changing sense for the design and expression. A need for more calm and focus grew. I was able to mirror this and flow with the changing needs.

That's how it often works: “What's possible?” becomes “What do I really want?”.

And so the website became more and more focused. We deliberately opted for a solution without scrolling: So the space is held and the content has support despite the playful motifs. I kept the design as flexible as possible: If she gets tired of the central image, she can change it at any time and thus determine the overall impression herself.

I had tried and paid a lot of money with other avenues and it just never felt right, always formulaic and impersonal. Working with Anne was completely different and her felt sense was so in tune with my own. She had just the right level of accountability focus, creativity and genuine care for how I felt about the physicalisation of my offerings. I can not recommend Anne and her work highly enough.
